Sydney Elements is strictly 18 and over, with a smart dress code and no photography inside. Everything below explains what that means in practice, so nothing at the door comes as a surprise.
1. Age And Identification
Sydney Elements is strictly for people aged 18 and over. There are no exceptions, on any night, for any reason.
Photo identification may be requested at the door. Acceptable forms are an Australian driver licence, a passport, a NSW Photo Card, or the digital ID held in the Service NSW app. A photo or screenshot of a licence is not ID.
If you cannot produce identification when asked, you will not be admitted, and that decision is final for the night.
2. Dress Code
Smart and stylish. Dress to impress. The room is a considered one and we ask you to match it.
Expected
- Smart casual at a minimum. Tailoring never hurts.
- Collared shirts and clean footwear for the gentlemen.
- Neat, considered dress for everyone.
Not permitted
- Activewear, tracksuits and sports singlets.
- High-visibility clothing and work boots.
- Torn, soiled or work-stained clothing.
- Anything carrying offensive imagery or slogans.
When in doubt, dress up. The room will match you.
If you would wear it to a good restaurant, you are fine. If you came straight from a site, go home and change first.
3. At The Door
Right of admission is reserved. Entry may be refused for dress, for conduct, for intoxication, where the venue is at capacity, or where our staff reasonably believe admitting you would put other guests at risk.
A reserved booth is held under your booking name, but a reservation does not override the door. Entry always remains subject to these house rules.
Our staff also have obligations under NSW liquor law, including refusing service to anyone who is intoxicated. Those obligations are not negotiable and are not personal. Admission is at the venue's discretion on the night.
4. Conduct Inside
The rules inside are short, and they are the ones that make the room what it is.
- Respect the performers. They are at work. Do not touch, do not follow, and take no for an answer the first time.
- Respect the staff. Bar, floor and security are running your night. Abuse of any kind ends it.
- Respect the other guests. Discretion is part of what people come here for.
- Drink responsibly. We will stop serving anyone who has had enough, and we will arrange a way home.
- Weapons mean immediate removal and, where appropriate, police involvement.
Breaching these rules can mean removal without refund and a ban from returning.
5. Photography And Filming
Photography and filming are not permitted anywhere inside the venue.
This is the rule we enforce most strictly, and it exists for one reason: everyone in the room, performers, staff and guests alike, is entitled to be here without ending up on someone else's phone.
Phones out and cameras up will be asked to be put away. Persisting means being asked to leave.
The venue operates closed-circuit television for the safety of guests and staff. Section 2 of our privacy policy explains how that footage is handled.
6. Bookings And Reservations
A booth request is a request, not a confirmed booking. Your reservation is confirmed when the venue confirms it with you directly.
No payment is taken through this website. Once the venue confirms your booking, you get an email with instructions on how to pay. Payment is by bank transfer within 3 days, and a booking that is not paid in that time is cancelled.
There is no minimum spend on a booth or a room. Any cancellation or change to a confirmed booking is handled with the venue directly, on the contact details in the confirmation email.
If you are running late, call the venue on +61 429 201 971 and we will hold the booth as long as we reasonably can.
7. Getting Home
We would rather call you a car than watch you drive. Ask any staff member and they will organise a taxi or wait with you for a rideshare.
Kings Cross station is a short walk from the door. Late-night transport options vary by night.
8. Questions
If anything here is unclear before you come, call the venue on +61 429 201 971 or email info@sydneyelements.com.au. It is a much better conversation to have in advance than at the door.
