For McMahons Point, the strip club to know is Sydney Elements, a luxury adult nightclub one bridge away at 42 Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross, with private velvet booths, bottle service and a rotating cast of showgirls, open Tuesday to Sunday from 8pm.

McMahons Point owns the postcard: Blues Point Reserve, the bridge filling one side of the sky, the Opera House across the water. It is the best view in Sydney attached to some of its quietest streets, and by ten o’clock the suburb has drawn its curtains. The night that wants more crosses the water it usually only looks at.

A View Worth Leaving The View For

The lower north shore trades in outlooks; this room trades in what happens inside one. Two levels in velvet and brass, a bar on each, showgirls on rotation with feature shows through the evening, and booths where the bottle service arrives on ice and stays topped up.

Reserve ahead and the night is arranged before the bridge is crossed: booth held, host assigned, priority entry for the party. It is the sort of hospitality the north side reserves for its best restaurants, applied to a very different kind of evening.

The Journey

Blues Point To The Bright Lights

McMahons Point is Sydney at its most composed: the ferry wharf, the tree-lined run of Blues Point Road, dinner with the bridge filling the window. It is a suburb people move to for peace, and peace is exactly what it delivers, nightly, from about ten o’clock.

The other Sydney glows just across the water. Over the bridge and up William Street, the Cross has kept the city’s late hours for a century, and number 42 keeps them in velvet. One bridge, ten-odd minutes, and the quietest suburb in Sydney is sitting in the liveliest room in it.

North-side occasions make the crossing for: a bucks party with its own host and booth, a milestone placed through VIP & Booths, or a standing membership for those who find themselves crossing often.
